Dominican Republic Missions Trip - Day 4 Update (Photos Added 10:50pm)
Here are some pictures of day 4:
Our forth day was great. Most of the students are feeling better. There were about 8 students that felt that it would be better to stay home and sleep rather than join us for our half day in Santo Domingo so they stayed back - but now they are mostly feeling much better. I think tomorrow everyone will be able to join us.
Today, decided to cancel our morning visit to the handicap orphanage because we didnt want to get the kids sick, and we wanted to give our sick members more time to rest. So we changed our departure time from 8:30am to 12:00pm to give them more sleep time. That really helped i think.
We headed towards Santo Domingo and went to a great Domincan restaurant to eat food. After that we went into the main square and fed the pigeons with bird seed. They aren't your normal pigeons - these ones love to sit on your hands. Yes we know that is dirty. But we instructed the students to not touch their faces during it and we gave them all purell afterwards to clean them up. It was fun - see the pictures!
After that we walked down the main street in the city to hand out over 200 spanish Bibles, hundreds of tracts and scripture bracelets. The kids did a great job and were so friendly and bold. We all stayed in one group as we walked and we made many people happy, many people think, and we believe God's word will NOT return back void! So now it's up to God to use those Bibles/Tracts - we've gladly done our part and we know God will be faithful to do the rest! What a joy to serve our Lord and King!
One cool story: We handed a guy a new pocket gideon Bible and he got all excited and shouted "I have a new one now"! He pulled out the oldest ripped up gideon Bible i've ever seen. It could be one that we gave him 1-2 years ago on our previous trips or it could be his. Either way he was so excited to have a new one - he reads it so much and carries it with him! What a pleasure to bless this saint with a new Bible. He deserves it. See the picture.
It was cool as we had to walk back our same route we came from to get to the bus - we saw people reading the tracts and Bibles! How cool is that - this was 15 minutes later! Our students saw one man crying as he read a tract so Allie ran over to give him a Bible - all the students were so excited to see God work like this.
We then shopped in the "straw market" where the kids learned to bargain for a good price. They bought all kids of fun things for themselves and their families - and they were nice enough to buy gifts for the students who weren't able to join us too. So loving of the!
We got back and had dinner, and then the Score Missionaries challenged us in the Scriptures. After that we played a game together and now they are getting ready for bed. Pray that they ALL will feel well enough to come with us tomorrow to do ministry in more villages. I am hopefully we can all go this time. God is good and bringing out so much love from the healthy kids to minister to the sick kids, and God is good to heal our sick students so quickly. Praise Him!

keep focused on the lord he will bring all of you through this. I think it sound like there is alot of caring for one another going on which is good.when you look back on this trip i think you will all remember how god REALLY taught you how to love one another in the faith to build you up to love others of the world. Its amazing how god works and there are alot of prayer warriors making their requests known to god. God bless all of you and see you soon.

God bless these kids. Man these guys are amazing! we love them so much! reading and seeing the pictures brings me so much joy. Im so happy i also got a taste of a missions trip through the updates and pictures. Im praying for you guys.
Praise God your all getting better! Rich - Sorry I missed your call. Jon's practice was pushed back to 7:30-9:30 due to the heat and then it was cut short at 9 because a big storm was coming. It was crazy to see men running out on the field blowing whistles and tell us to get out there. The wind was blowing pretty hard too. It turned out not to be that bad of a storm though. Anyway...love you and miss you and glad your feeling better.

Cathy, thank you so much for calling me and giving me an update on Ashley, I so appreciated it. Thank you and all the leaders for taking such good care of our children during this stomach virus. I know how hard and draining it must of been for some of you. I will continue to pray that no one else gets sick and that the leader who is now sick gets better quickly. What a wonderful thing to see the well take care of the sick. I'm sure that the Lord is going to teach them much during this as He uses all things to make us more like Him. Again, I can't thank you enough for taking care of my Ashley.
Praying for all of you!
In Jesus,
Mary

Ashley,
It was so nice to see you in tonight's pictures sitting with the others after such a rough night last night. I was so sorry to hear how bad you were last night. I hope that you got much needed rest today and that tomorrow you will be able to join the rest of the team with your scheduled stops. Don't forget to drink plenty of water to rehydrate yourself and rest if you need to. I love you so much and am missing you a lot. Aprie and Thumper are doing fine and they miss you too. Love you and so happy that you are better.

Hey Drew - I was so glad to hear from you this afternoon - Dad & I were so sad we didn't talk to you last night. We had a HUGE storm & lost power for about 20 minutes right during the time you may have called
I saw you holding those dirty birds - aaaahhhhhhhh! That caused me and your aunt so much stress. Look around for some bleach to clean yourself off - lol. You are so adventurous!!!
We can't wait to see you tomorrow - We sure have been missing our young man. Jacob & Abigail say hello - any you know what else they send to you. Love and prayers - Dad & Mom
Oh ps: Mo misses you a bunch and sends some wet licks for you - I know you love it! (more stress for Mom - lol)
Lucy has been busy with Mr. Maulsit - poor dog
