What is summer discipleship? It’s totally optional. You don’t have to do it at all, but I think it’s something you will definitely not regret! Let me explain the heart of it for you. Basically this is a 4 week (once per week) commitment of getting together to grow in your relationship with your God. We’ll spend a few hours together getting to know each other and most of all learning to love Jesus the way that He wants us to as shown in the Bible. You’ll have fun! When will we be meeting? There are a total of four meetings during July and we’d like you to commit to being there for every meeting. After we’re done you can just stay for youth group that night.

What will we be learning?
Parents, teachers and pastors would like to think they are the most influential in a student’s life, but students spend more time interacting with their friends than with anyone else.  Friends influence every part of students’ lives - how you act, what you wear, what you say, and most importantly what you believe. This DVD video driven Bible study series will give us God’s perspective on how to be a good friend.

EACH WEEK we’ll take you out to a different restaurant to eat with the leaders. We’ll spend time fellowshipping with each other (What does “fellowship” mean? It just means to hang out with Jesus in mind). Bring $10 each week to cover your food cost. One of the weeks Pastor Lloyd will join us for dinner to hang out with us while we eat. Cooooooool!

ethix: Being Bold in a Whatever World by Sean McDowell ($5.00)
In this book you’ll learn to stand up for what is right by discovering what the Bible says about the morality of sex, drugs and alcohol, defending pro-life, homosexuality, the case for marriage, the morality of war, and how to know God's will. (crazy relevant issues that you need to know what God says about!)

Now What? At the end of the 4 weeks we won’t ditch you! You’ll now start receiving in the mail at home your weekly homework assignments to complete and mail back to Pastor Andy (I’ll pay for the stamps).
