Dominican Republic Missions Trip Update - Day 6
Day 6 was very calm and restful - as a Sabbath day should be ![]()
We had our morning devotions in Ephesians 5 learning to Walk in love, walk in the light, and walk in wisdom. After breakfast we got into a bus and headed to church. Josh and Thomas felt sick before the bus ride, but God ended up healing them and he felt great the rest of the day. Church was in a poor village (although it was nicer than the sugarcane villages). The building was great - they had fans running and it didnt seem hot at all. Everyone was dressed in their sunday's best and it was fun to attend church with the locals. They were extremly nice to us.
Our group was very involved in the church service. I introduced our group, Cassie had a chance to share her testimony of how she began her relationship with Jesus, Robbie played worship on his guitar, and Frank preached the message in English. We were all translated by SCORE staff. It was fun to be a part of the service. Church was great. Franks message in Deuteronomy 10 was awesome. After church we left our remaining baseball cards and candy with the pastor to use as rewards for when kids memorize Bible verses.
We headed back to SCORE for lunch and then played some games together. We had a special surprise this afternoon as we decided to go horseback riding! The horses actually came to us at SCORE and we went in two groups of 10 for about a 1 hour ride each. It was lots of fun. The horses seemed to have their own ideas of where they would go and when they would go. We were just along for the ride ![]()
Afterwards we helped our Nate and Erica (SCORE missionaries from Indiana) as they had their final KIDS CLUB of the summer. 40 kids from around town came to SCORE to "buy" prizes with fake money that they had earned by learning Bible verses each week. Our students helped to manage the store of fun items they were buying.
We decided to go out to eat again for dinner. We went to another pizza place and all had some pasta and pizza again. We had 21 people eat for only $165! Isn't that great. When we got back we cleaned up our supply room and then headed for the pool for 2 hours for some fun.
We ended our night with an hour and a half worship session that involved music, prayer, and a time of testimonies. It was cool to see God moving in the students hearts. We serve a powerful God and He has grabbed a hold of all of our students hearts. They will come back changed for sure! What a might God we serve! Now the studnets are completing their Bible study on "Thankfulness" before going to bed at 11pm tonight.
Tomorrow its off to the airport and home to you! See you soon.

Pastor Andy today pictures were wonderful but then all the pictures were wonderful. I can't thank you enough for making this experience for the teens a wonderful growing experience, of course God is the one who gives the increase, but the seeds you have planted over in the DR and in the hearts of our children are something to be in awe of. I get to watch as my children grow up, the fruit that the Lord will get from this. I will be praying for tomorrows journey home. Thank you again for all your work to bring all of this to us, through your words and the pictures. Be Blessed
Tina and Becky, I love you guys so much , I am so proud of you and I cant wait to have you both back in my arms. Sleep tight and I await your homecoming.
Love Mom

Wow, what a awesome trip! Each day, I have been so blessed reading what God is doing in the D.R. through each one of you. You have been such a witness of our Fathers love. Andy, Shannon, and all the leaders thank you for taking such great care of our children too. Andy, I really felt like I was right there with all of you during the trip through all the photos and daily updates. It was a perfect way for us to connect and pray for specific needs and to praise Him for all His goodness. Thanks for the blessing!
