MISSION TRIP UPDATE: Day #5
Day 5 was refreshing. We had devotions this morning in 1 Peter 1 and this evening in 1 Peter 2. After breakfast we headed to Pastor Jay's Camp. He is a great man who visits the sugarcane villages and teaches the Bible and plants churches. If the kids are diligent to learn scriptures and write out entire books of the Bible then they earn trips to his camp that has a great baseball field, basketball court, volleyball court, shade and a huge pool. The kids that get to go there get great Bible teaching and some are already being raised up as pastors after years of discipleship.
We go to the camp around 10am and began to play a baseball game. They killed us 37 to 5. And believe me - they gave us those 5 runs because they were being nice. But it was fun
The sun was really hot today, but we had plenty of water and headed straight to the pool after our whooping. The pool was very refreshing and we had a great time cooling off. Afterwards Pastor Jay shared a great Bible study with the students in Ecclessiastes 9. It was very encouraging. It was nice to have someone share the scriptures with us after a week of sharing them with others. Very refreshing. Eric Morris, principal of Calvary Christian School, has been visiting Pastor Jay for many years now and it was neat to continue the friendship that CCOB has with him.
We had a late lunch and then some freetime (more pool). In the late afternoon we got tons of spanish scripture bracelets and tracts and walked to the beach. As we passed people the students boldly handed them out telling people that Jesus loved them. It was very very well received, which is amazing. Frank had a group of 5 kids sitting down around him as he explained the gospel to them for 20 minutes! Some even prayed to receive the Lord!
We jumped into the oceans and then had devotions on the beach before heading back. Once we got back we had a late dinner (which all the students loved). Of course we headed right back to the pool for a game of marco pollo and Gorilla Tag (they will explain when they get home). When the pool closed we spent some time singing praise songs and discussing the Bible.
I'll download your voicemails and emails tonight and let the students check them out during devotions in the morning. God Bless! We'll be home soon!!!

Once again, we love the pictures. Especially to see the kids praying with Frank and our kids passing out the tracts. Note to Andy: It's difficult to look spiritual when your holding a pool cue and the players around you look like they are crying because you won yet another game (lol).
We'll see you in 2 more sleeps. BTW, did you need me for the return airpot pickup?
