MISSION TRIP UPDATE: Day #4

We had another great day. This morning we went to JUBMO to buy food for 20 families using the money our youth group gave in offerings this year. After shopping we headed to the village with food and toys. The SCORE leader handed out numbers to the poorest families to come back in 30 minutes to get the food. While we were waiting we played with the kids. They loved the water balloon launcher that we used with soft squishy balls.

After playing we sat them down and the students performed their skit. It was received well, as was Franks Gospel invitation. Many children prayed along with Him.

Next we handed out the food and toys to the families with numbers, and Spanish scripture bracelets to everyone else. It was lots of fun.

We headed back for another great lunch at SCORE and got ready for our next village after lunch. Each of these villages are different and SCORE tries to visit each of them about 2-3 times a year. Over 150 are visited annually.

When we arrived at this village we saw the same amazing sight. The children would see our bus and start jumping up and down with excitement. About 40 children chased after our bus before we parked. This time was a bit different because we played baseball with them. It was boys verses girls. We had lots of fun and you know what...the girls clobbered us. They had a secret weapen. Emma, one of our students, is an amazing softball pitcher. The whole village was impressed with her speed. All the guys tried to hit her but couldnt. That was funny.

The game was long and fatigue was setting in. We were running out of water and tired, but the Lord gave us all the strength to do the skit and share the Gospel with the kids. It's awesome each time we hear these precious little ones pray to receive Jesus into their hearts. They don't have a church in their village so this may be one of only a few times a year they here about Jesus.

Thank you Jesus for counting us worthy and equipping us for this great ministry!
We came back and drank lots of water and jumped in the pool for a well deserved rest. We treated all the students to a free ice cream since they worked so hard today. We had a nice night in the pool, at dinner, and at devotions.

I will let the students listen to you voicemails and read your emails tomorrow morning since they are already in their bedrooms exhausted. They are jounaling right now some of their favorite verses in 1 John, 2 John and 3rd John. We've read those books during devotions this week. We are memorizing 1 John 3:16 and 1 John 5:12 - so make sure you ask them about those verses when they get back!
