MISSION TRIP UPDATE: Day #1

We made it to the SCORE Hotel today. We were a little delayed because we lost a few bags. We actually left a few bags in the van underneath the seat. Silly us. It's nothing crucial. We are buying come extra clothes for one of the team members. Our plane was delayed an hour, but we had lots of fun traveling together.
Arriving at the DR was great. Very humid, but the rain cooled it down. Hurricane Dean barely touched this place. It only brought rain. So the locals are very thankful for that.
After arriving at SCORE we had orientation, check-in and then dinner. The food was tasty. Sandwitches and some amazing potato salad. We are currently having some free time and organizing our supplies.
I checked the voicemails and emails and will be passing them onto the students tonight after our devotions.
I'm going to let them call home for about 3 minutes every evening to talk to parents using the hotel phone that we have to pay for. Besides that we will try and pick up some calling cards for extended conversations.
The schedule for the week looks awesome. We have two trips to sugarcane villages tomorrow, ophanages, tract distribution, food distribution and lots of great ministry opportunities. So keep us in prayer!
I'll post another update tomorrow night.
God Bless!

P.S. I was unable to post the photos tonight. I will try again tomorrow.
